The essence of living vibrantly and connecting to my inner voice has been to simplify.
Redefining the plots of the stories in my head that push, degrade, compare and tell me that more is better.
Redesigning the habits that leave me feeling depleted and exhausted -- over exercising, eating and working, numbing pain with distractions, and not prioritizing sleep and self care.
Learning to be still with noise and discomfort and realizing that they do not define me and will pass as long as I let them flow through me.
Cooking with food that is as close to it's natural state as possible -- vegetables, fruits, grains, herbs, spices, nuts, seeds, and grass-fed/organic animal products.
Clearing out the clutter of material goods that don't light me up or instantly excite me.
Designing my morning routine for vibrancy and alignment with my priorities.
The simplifying process isn't exactly simple. Each of these steps takes soul-searching with the essential key being getting clear on what your values are. AND redefining, redesigning, learning and clearing are ongoing processes. However, once you complete the initial work, life becomes immensely more peaceful, intentional, and vibrant.
Identifying your values is difficult when you haven't spent time reflecting on how your current lifestyle makes you feel. Begin the journey with the area that most appeals or seems most manageable. Maybe it's throwing out three pieces of clothing that you don't love, learning to make a #buddhabowl or questioning the daily habit that you dread. And start reflecting and jotting down what is and isn't working or lighting you up on a daily basis.
