Mind Drama: Where Are You Creating Your Own Pain?

Updated: Jun 20, 2022

I have had soooo much mind drama around curling my hair. I naturally have pretty straight hair, so of course, I’ve wanted curly hair. Yet, I’ve been telling myself for years that, “Plenty of people want straight hair, I should embrace it.” “I’m one of those people who just can’t curl her hair; I get twisted up in my own hair + arms.” “I’m not the type of person who curls her hair.”

My love for change + growth kept eating away at me, though. I was bored with just straight hair, + annoyed with myself at playing the victim with “not being able to curl my hair.” So guess what I did? I embraced the challenge!

I watched YouTube videos + bought the correct supplies + practiced + practiced + practiced. The pathetic attitude is gone, + I feel empowered + proud of myself for figuring it out. AND I have all these new ways to wear my hair, yay!

My real point is that we create so much mind drama around such silly things. Then we procrastinate, play the victim, pretend that we aren’t capable…blah, blah, blah.

Where are you causing yourself mind drama? How are you going to take the challenge + make changes to move on with your life as a stronger, more vibrant woman?
